I had the pleasure of attending the 8th World Congress of Paediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery in Washington DC from 27 August to 01 September 2023.
It was an amazing experience for me. What made it more amazing was that it was my first experience at an international congress. Words are not enough to express how amazing the congress was. I trully enjoyed everything and I hope these pictures can show just how much of an experience it was.
The poster presentations were out of this world. It was great to see the amazing research that is being done globally in the field of Paediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery. All the interesting cases that were presented will definitely go a long way in improving my knowledge as a Paediatric Cardiologist and to serve my community.

Networking
I loved interacting with my Paediatric Cardiology colleagues at a global level and sharing experiences from our different centres.
Meeting World experts in our field was one of my biggest highlights.
While there were no sessions happening, we got to do some site seeing and have fun with our South African colleagues. It was great to interact with my South African colleagues outside of work. This balance is essential in ensuring great working relationships.
Based on my experience from this Congress, I am looking forward to the next congress and to learn from the world experts.
Thank you,
